OU Career Services held their Spring Career & Internship fair Wednesday at Ping Recreation Center to give students an opportunity to meet with over 80 employers from many different industries. A current employer says even if you're not looking for a job or internship just yet, it's still very beneficial to practice interacting with employers and seeing what's out there. 'Move Better, Do Better': OU professor inspires Athens community to stay active

OU professor in the Human Anatomy and Biological Sciences departments, Ian Klein, created a fitness class called 'Move Better, Do Better' almost two years ago. This program is more than just a workout, as it's a space for the Athens community to improve their well-being through guided exercises, designed to build strength, flexibility and balance. A member of the class says she loves it because it a low impact class with high reward. Despite the class being free, Klein does accept donations from attendees to give back to various charities. He says they've raised about 2,000 dollars so far. Hocking Hills Garment Center threads jobs, sustainability together

Athens native, Betsy Franjola, created the Hocking Hills Garment Center by repurposing an old church into a factory in Buchtel, Ohio. Franjola hopes to create meaningful jobs in the community, while also supplying local businesses with sustainable, quality clothing. HHGC also plans to launch their own in-house line, where they will oversee both sourcing and manufacturing. Morgan's Message was created in 2020 by Morgan Rodgers' parents after she died by suicide in 2019. She was a Duke University lacrosse player, so her parents set the mission of de-stigmatizing mental health among athletes, and creating a community where they feel supported. The Athena Cinema in Uptown Athens has been a historic spot for many years. The cinema has been undergoing renovations to it's theaters over the last couple of months, with the third theatre opening just a few weeks ago.
