When all was said and done against the other 42 best 10,000-meter runners in the NCAA East Regional, Ohio sophomore Emily Pifer stood at 39th. With a time of 37 minutes and 21.61 seconds, Pifer crossed the finish line in her highest level of competition to date.
Sophomore Emily Pifer may have been recruited by big-conference schools such as Vanderbilt and Cincinnati, but she decided to run at Ohio University because of the connection she felt to the Bobcats.
Although the regular outdoor season is over for many Bobcats, the team will host the third annual Ohio Sunset Distance and Discus Classic Friday on the Goldsberry Track for athletes to either prepare for the NCAA Championships or wrap up their seasons.

The Bobcats crossed the finish line victorious in the 4x800-meter relay, setting a new school record along with 19 other top-ten finishes at the Hillsdale College “Gina” Relays in Michigan over the weekend.
