The commission has brought forth the bill with a stated objective “to preserve the Ridges’ biodiversity and history.”
One bill passed serves as a statement of opposition to proposed changes with the passing of the national Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
The body will also vote on a resolution concerning the congressional tax reform plan.
The third bill of the evening was supporting Ohio House Bill 61, legislation calling for the removal of an increased sales tax on menstrual products.
The body will vote on six resolutions and three bills at its Wednesday meeting.
The bill is a response to an interim policy recently enacted by the university that bans demonstrations, sit-ins, speeches and more inside university buildings.
The policy generated opposition due to its restrictions on students’ rights to protest inside campus buildings.
