As the election results continue to come in throughout the night, there are different watch parties being held in Athens. The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership held a non-partisan watch party in Baker for students, and the Athens County Democratic Organization held one at Pigskin. Although many people have participated in early voting, there will still be millions of citizens voting on election day. People have expressed concern of unsafe environments at the polls, and being scared to vote by absentee ballot due to ballot drop boxes being burned around the country.
