I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Athens County Democrats for winning a six-year term prior to the election for Common Pleas Court Judge replacing the retiring Judge L. Alan Goldsberry. This is one position in county government that should be nonpartisan. There shouldn’t be a D, R or I beside any candidate seeking to be judge. Every Athens County voter should have the right to vote for judge seats. However, that’s another soap box.
When you are about to enter a new phase in your life, it’s funny how past moments and memories come flooding back as if they had happened yesterday.

It’s the weekend and that means more track and field.
Though Athens Police have a photo of a suspect whom they say made counterfeit bills and passed them at an uptown bar, authorities said they have no new updates for the public on the case.

I am in a weird place this spring because for the first time in five years, I am not running a GSS or Student Senate campaign. I have been on the “outside” and “inside” ticket. Last year, I was elected as president of Graduate Student Senate and was finally able to carry out those ideas. However, I have found out something fundamental about Ohio University, something that most students don’t understand. Students in this school have a ridiculous amount of power … if they understand the system.
