The recent article by Dan Xi Huang avoids Appalachian stereotypes included too frequently in Athens’ coverage in favor of thorough reporting. While not perfect, it is a positive example among other national coverage.
We at The Post strive to uphold accurate, fair reporting, including when deciding which photos to use, and we will be working hard to ensure The Post does not let an error like this happen again.
