Since Palmer Place Fest was canceled this year, Athens Fest took its place. The fest was held on Hocking Street, and drew a huge crowd thanks to the well-known rappers who performed. Another successful fest weekend in Athens, Ohio!

Most of the oldest buildings on Ohio University’s campus were built in Georgian-style architecture, featuring grand brick exteriors with numerous windows and hipped roofs. Endearingly dubbed the “Harvard on the Hocking,” OU’s architectural style replicated the timeless charm and prestigiousness of Ivy League schools in the northeast, specifically Harvard University.

When I first got to The Post I had this larger-than-life urge to make content that resonated with people. Now that I’m sitting here over 200 stories later, I wonder if it was remotely worth it. I’ve poured years of my life into this university, more specifically this organization, and what do I have to show for it other than a piece of paper and a more detailed resume? I hear that line of thinking weekly and it shortchanges the college experience.

No genre of music is as synonymous with a particular geographic region as bluegrass is with Appalachia. Stemming from the folk music of Irish and Scottish settlers in the region mixed with African traditions brought by formerly enslaved people, bluegrass focuses on acoustic instruments such as the banjo and fiddle with an emphasis on musical dexterity.

Ohio (21-20, 9-7 Mid-American Conference) will welcome Western Michigan (22-17, 11-5 MAC) to Athens for its most pivotal series of the season.
