Football: Bobcats reveal 2014 football schedule

With the conclusion of the bowl season last week, Ohio football is looking ahead to another campaign and announced its opponents for the 2014 season on Monday.

The Bobcats will play six games at Peden Stadium next season, including non-conference games against Idaho and Eastern Illinois on Sept. 20 and 27, respectively. Mid-American Conference game dates have yet to be announced, however.

Ohio will welcome MAC opponents Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo and Northern Illinois to Athens next season, while it will travel to play Central Michigan, Kent State, Miami and Western Michigan.

The Bobcats will not play Massachussets, a fellow MAC East team, but will instead pick up a third game against a MAC West opponent with the Broncos, Chippewas and Huskies on the schedule.

The Bobcats will also travel to play Kentucky and Marshall the first two weekends of September.

Ohio’s notable offense members Tyler Tettleton, a quarterback, and Beau Blankenship, a running back, will not return because of graduation. The Bobcats will look to move past their  37-20 loss to East Carolina in the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl in December, which was the team’s fifth consecutive bowl appearance.
