The Ohio University Foundation, the fundraising arm of the university, purchased properties Tuesday on W. Union and neighboring streets for $400,000.
The Ohio University Foundation purchased a West Union Street property for $400,000, but has not yet said what it plans to do with it.
The purchased property formerly housed Bws Happy Cat Drive Thru and a car wash in the same building. Neither of the companies were operating from the property when it was purchased.
“The Ohio University Foundation Board of Trustees vetted and decided to purchase this property because it is strategically located in an area that is ripe for growth and development,” Vice President for Finance and Administration Stephen Golding said.
Golding said OU did not have any immediate plans for the purchased property.
Included in the purchase are 207 and 209 W. Union St. and 28, 29 ½, 30 and 32 Moore St.
OU Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of the university, according to its website.
