As alumni descend on Athens students should make sure they proudly show their Bobcat spirit.
We’d like to say “Welcome home” to the alumni who are making the trek back to the bricks they know and love. As always, have as much fun as you possibly can, but please be safe. We know that things can get out of hand when a large amount of people converge in Athens, but we have to remind you to think about everything you’re doing.
Homecoming is a time for current students to celebrate being a Bobcat and for former ones to share their experiences with the younger crew. We don’t want to leave out the university officials and educators whom we also hope will participate in the festivities.

The Post will be marching in Saturday morning’s Homecoming Parade and passing out Friday’s edition, so be sure to look out for us. The parade is one of our highlights for the weekend and something that Posties look forward to participating in leading up to the event, so we hope to see you there.
For the freshman Bobcats out there, connect with the alumni you meet when you’re walking around Court Street this weekend. This weekend is more than a football game and an excuse to hit the bars, this is a chance to learn about how OU has changed throughout the years, or maybe how it’s stayed the same.
Take the opportunity this weekend to not only have fun, but to treat everyone you encounter with respect. Bobcats should take care of other Bobcats, and since there will be more of us than usual, let’s show the alumni that Athens is still the small town in the hills they love.
