Post Editorial: 'Post' appreciates the Marching 110

On Sunday, the Marching 110 made the trip to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., to perform at the halftime show of an NFL game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.

We think it is marvelous that the Most Exciting Band in the Land is sought out by so many.

Just last month, the Marching 110 performed “The Fox” during halftime of a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

This summer, the band toured in Ireland and Italy in commemoration of the band program’s 90th anniversary.

The Marching 110’s performance of “Gangnam Style” was even part of a Google commercial that recapped the entire year of 2012.

We are lucky to be able to witness the 110 perform numerous times throughout our stay at Ohio University. We are proud of the band and delighted that others get the opportunity to watch its talent unfold on the turf as well, especially when it broadcasts on a national level.

Although the 110 dealt with some controversy after practicing Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” we think it’s safe to assume that the campus still has the band’s collective back, and we will all be cheering it on come Homecoming weekend.
