Beginning Monday, your newspaper will look a little different.
We’re slimming down the size of our newspaper by a bit less than an inch. The downsized dimensions, we hope, will be more manageable for readers and be more environmentally friendly.
To be clear, the change isn’t a cost-cutting measure, and we don’t have any further immediate plans to change the appearance of our print produact.
The Post will be approximately the size of USA Today — a change I’m excited about. (Yes, I realize how nerdy that sounds.)
The change is in line with industry standards, as two of Ohio’s three largest newspapers — The Columbus Dispatch and Cincinnati Enquirer — both downsized in 2013. The Oregonian, in Portland, switched to a compact format in April.
I hope the sleeker, more compact design is to your liking. Please let me know what you think.
And as always, thanks for reading.
