Volleyball: Everything you need to know ahead of Ohio's return to The Convo this weekend

After seven road matches to begin its season, Ohio returns to The Convo for its first home games of 2018. The Bobcats will host Samford and Virginia Tech on Friday and IUPUI on Saturday.

Friday

Game 1

vs. Samford (2-5)

Match time: 10 a.m.

Game 2

vs. Virginia Tech (6-0)

Match time: 7:30 p.m.

Note: Friday night's game will serve as Ohio's "Turn It Gold" match for National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Saturday

vs. IUPUI (2-5)

Match time: 2 p.m.

News and notes

-Samford and Ohio last played each other in 2017 in Birmingham, Alabama. The Bobcats prevailed in five sets.

-Sara Januszewski (junior) filled in for Tia Jimerson's (sophomore) absence in Wednesday's loss to Marshall. Januszewski's nine kills were her highest mark this year.

-The reason for Jimerson's absence from the lineup on Wednesday is still unknown.

-This will be the first time Ohio has been featured on ESPN+ for volleyball. A subscription is needed to watch, but a 30-day free trial is also available.

-After Wednesday's match, every player but Virginia Natale (freshman), Dahlias Bouyer (redshirt freshman) and Carley Remmers (redshirt junior) has appeared in a match for Ohio in 2018.

-Friday's 10 a.m. start is the earliest start the Bobcats will have this season.
