When playing golf in April, Ohio never knows what to expect from the weather.
After playing its first three spring tournaments of the season in sunny environments like Arizona and Florida, Ohio will travel to Bowling Green for this weekend's Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, where conditions are expected to be rainy and windy. The Bobcats will play two rounds starting on Saturday and concluding Sunday.
The high temperature for Saturday's round is predicted to be 36 with 20 mph winds. Sunday's high will be 45 with a likely chance of rain and snow.
Senior Angela Codian, who finished tied for ninth in last year's Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, said she likes playing when the weather is not reasonable.
"I am really looking forward to the adverse conditions because there, it's going to be very windy and cold," Codian said. "I think a great golfer is somebody who has a great attitude about how they attack a course."
Trying not to let the elements affect her game, Codian said she instead has to worry about what she can control.
"I want to tune out things I can't control, like the cold and the wind, and just worry about what I can do," she said.
Even with the conditions likely being rigorous, junior Hailey Hrynewich said familiarity with Bowling Green's course can be used to Ohio's advantage.
"As each year goes on, you learn the things you don't like about certain courses," Hrynewich said. "It's all about dealing with that adversity."
Regardless of weather elements, Codian said the Bobcats must finish stronger than their fifth-place finish last year.

Ohio will tee off against host Bowling Green, Ashland, Boston, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Dartmouth, Ferris State, Findlay, Niagara, Illinois-Chicago and Youngstown State.
"We usually start off so strong," Codian said. "By the third round, maybe we will get tired or the conditions will get tougher. I think finishing strong is one of our key points."
