Technology, phone tips help in search for missing kids

CLEVELAND -

said police Cmdr. Michael McGrath, who is heading the investigation into Shakira's disappearance.

Bob O'Brien, of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said there is always a chance a missing child was taken somewhere else. O'Brien, a retired FBI agent, heads TEAM ADAM, which sent two former law enforcement officers to Cleveland in the days after Shakira disappeared.

TEAM ADAM, using technology many police departments cannot afford, faxed her photo and vital statistics to 10,000 Ohio motels, stores and police departments.

Then Shakira was featured on television's America's Most Wanted.
