Women's Basketball: Bobcats remain undefeated

Another defensive shutdown kept the Bobcats undefeated, as they improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2006.

Ohio never gave up the lead on Tuesday and eased past Northern Kentucky 77-38.

"I'm happy with a lot of things the defense did out on the court," coach Bob Boldon said. "I thought we had a good defensive effort all around. We gave up 24 points in the first half, which only seems like a lot because we gave up 14 in the first."

Ohio forced 29 turnovers and held the Norse to shooting 26 percent from the field.

Junior guard Kiyanna Black led all scorers with 21 points, while junior forward Lexie Baldwin had 14 points and sophomore guard Quiera Lampkins finished with 12.

"We just took better shots tonight," Boldon said. "We got ourselves a lot of easy shots and assists. We ran the offense tonight."

None of the Northern Kentucky players hit double digits in scoring.

Ohio returns to action Sunday, when it faces Manhattan at 2 p.m.
