Here are five holiday desserts to make this year

The holiday season is a time of excitement. People are buying gifts, traffic is hectic and the smells of cinnamon and pine are usually always flowing in the air. This time of year also means festivities, events that cause you to panic over what to bring as a dessert option.

Well, look no further, as there are many unique recipes you can make at this time of year that go beyond the standard Hershey Kiss cookie. Here are five of the best new holiday dessert recipes to make during the holidays:

Cocoa Cola Bundt Cake

This is the perfect bundt cake to make for the holidays, especially as it actually has real Coca-Cola within it. This dish can serve up to eight people and takes approximately three hours and 30 minutes to prepare. This cake has a lot of interesting ingredients within it, including ground nutmeg and clove, as well as orange and lemon zest. To accompany the cake itself, the recipe calls to also make the Coca-Cola syrup and a chocolate glaze. You can also make your own whipped cream or add fruit to the top of the cake as well!

White Hot Chocolate

While many people think dessert only means making something that you actually eat, why not switch things up this year by making a sweet beverage? This dessert is time efficient, only taking 15 minutes to make. It can also feed up to four people. All you have to do is heat up two cups of milk and one and a half cups of half-and-half in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Next, stir in ¾ cup of white chocolate chips until melted. Stir in half a teaspoon of kosher salt and one and a half teaspoon of vanilla extract. Then, pour the liquid into mugs and top with mini marshmallows and more white chocolate chips.

No-Bake Peanut Butter Bars

If you’re not in the mood to actually bake, these No-Bake Peanut Butter Bars are the way to go. With only a 20-minute prep time, these bars will for sure be gone in a matter of seconds. This recipe can also make up to 20 servings. Ingredients you’ll need include semi-sweet chocolate chips, creamy and chunky peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla wafers and chopped peanuts. All you have to do is make the bars themselves and then store them in a refrigerator for at least an hour, then they’ll be ready for any event, as they can soften at room temperature.

Salted Caramel Apple Pie Blondies

This dessert definitely can be made year-round, but is just right for the holiday season, especially when prepared warm. Topped with a brown sugar pecan streusel, these blondies will be a fan-favorite for years to come. To make the streusel, you’ll need pecans, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter, then you’ll start making the blondies. The blondies only take 20 minutes to prepare, with a pause halfway through their bake time to add the streusel to the top. Just add caramel sauce after they cool off and you’ll be set for your next holiday party.

Strawberry Santas

Making four to six servings, Strawberry Santas are a simple and easy dish for beginners to make this winter. Ingredients include mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, strawberries and mini chocolate chips. You’ll start with making the frosting first, beating the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract with a mixer until smooth, gradually adding in the powdered sugar. For the actual Santas, you’ll cut the strawberries as the recipe suggests to make their figure. Finally, you’ll use the chocolate chips to add eyes to complete the Santas.
