Volleyball: What to know for this week of Ohio Volleyball

The Bobcats have a busy week ahead of them. With four matches against three different opponents in five days, Ohio (6-6, 6-6 Mid-American Conference) is looking to better their standing in the MAC East so that they can earn a trip to the MAC tournament.

Ohio will travel to Kent State on Tuesday and then come home to face Toledo on Wednesday. The Bobcats wrap up their week with a series against Western Michigan on March 19 and 20.

Here’s what to know about Ohio volleyball’s upcoming week:

Tuesday

Opponent: Kent State (11-4, 11-4 MAC)

Time: 6 p.m.

Location: Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (Kent, Ohio)

Series History:

Last time Ohio saw the Golden Flashes was Nov. 21, 2019 where the Bobcats defeated Kent 3-2. Kent is currently on a six-match losing streak to the Bobcats. Ohio leads the all-time series 22-3 since their first match in 2009. In the last ten matchups, Kent has only defeated the Bobcats once. 

Wednesday

Opponent: Toledo (3-10, 3-10 MAC)

Time: 5 p.m. 

Location: Convocation Center (Athens, Ohio)

Series History:

Ohio defeated Toledo 3-0 in their last match on Oct. 19, 2019. In the all-time series, Ohio leads Toledo 36-18. The last time the Rockets defeated the Bobcats was Oct. 13, 2018, to the tune of 3-2. 

Friday and Saturday

Opponent: Western Michigan (12-3, 12-3 MAC)

Time: 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday

Location: Convocation Center (Athens, Ohio)

Series History: 

Ohio defeated Western Michigan 3-0 in their last meeting on Oct. 19, 2019. Unlike the earlier series, Ohio is not the champion of the all-time series. Western Michigan leads the series 32-23 and is currently on a one-match losing streak to the Bobcats. Ohio has the chance to better their record against the Broncos with this one game series.
