Ohio University announced its new dean for the Honors Tutorial College on Thursday.
Dr. Donal C. Skinner, the current dean of the University of Wyoming’s Honors College, will begin his new position at OU on July 15.
Skinner has been dean of UW’s Honors College since 2017. Skinner is also a professor of endocrinology in the Department of Zoology and Physiology.
“Dr. Skinner has a proven track record of success related to developing and implementing Honors programs,” Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Chaden Djalali said in a press release. “His experience is crucial as we seek to advance the overall academic quality of our institution, to attract the best and brightest students to OHIO, and to provide opportunities for all students to engage in experiential learning.”
Dr. Skinner was chosen through a search committee that formed in December 2018. The former HTC Dean, Jeremy Webster, became the new Zanesville campus dean in June of 2017. Cary Frith, the interim dean, served in his position for about two years.
