Phi Beta Sigma, in partnership with Delta Zeta, Delta Upsilon, Lamda Chi, will host a Nearly Naked Mile Friday night.
Phi Beta Sigma is sponsoring a Nearly Naked Mile Friday night in conjunction with Delta Zeta, Delta Upsilon and Lambda Chi.
“It’s pretty much the same idea as Bare on the Bricks,” said James Ray, Vice President of Phi Beta Sigma.
The run will start at College Green and end at South Beach.
“This week is Sigma week and we just wanted to have some kind of like service event,” Ray said.
There is no registration fee. “We just ask that if you are going to participate just bring clothing donations,” Ray said.
Currently, Phi Beta Sigma is deciding where it wants to donate the clothes to.

“The event is designed to take in clothing donations, however it’s called Nearly Naked Mile just because you can dress how you want, we just really want clothing donations,” Ray said.
The donations are for people who can’t afford certain clothes, he said.

“There is no restriction on what you can bring...we just want donations,” Ray said.
He encourages donations of all kind, whether it is summer or winter clothing.
This is the first time Ray believes Phi Beta Sigma has hosted an event like this.
“We would like as many people to show up and donate as possible,” Ray said. “We appreciate everything we get.”
