Ohio was named the No. 1 team in the ACHA Division One rankings, according to the weekly computer poll released Wednesday.
The ranking is one spot ahead of their ranking in last week's poll, which had the Bobcats at second.
"It's good for us," coach Sean Hogan said. "But being number one in November is not the goal for us. It's being number one in March."
Ohio spent one week at the top of the poll last season. After earning the top spot, Ohio was swept by Lindenwood at home. Ohio never regained the top position.
Hogan said after the rankings came out, the team is in good spirits knowing it holds the top spot.
"We had a good practice today," he said. "I could tell they were fired up about it."
The new ranking also saw Iowa State drop to eighth. The Cyclones had held a position in the top-5 for most of the season.
The Bobcats will be back in action when they travel to Ames, Iowa to take on No. 8 Iowa State on Friday and Saturday nights.
