Ohio University Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones was named as the interim Vice President of Student Affairs after current Vice President Jason Pina announced he was stepping down, according to a university press release.
Pina is stepping down from the role after accepting the position of chief strategy officer for Global Programs and University Life at New York University. He will officially leave his position at OU on Oct. 26, according to a university press release.
“Jason has provided strong leadership to Ohio University over the past four years,” OU President Duane Nellis said in the release. “We are grateful for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
Hall-Jones has held several positions at OU over the past 24 years. She began her time with the university with a position in Residence Life and continued with a position in the Division of Student Affairs until she was appointed Associate Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students in 2013.
She has earned several degrees at OU, earning her bachelor’s degree in sociology with an emphasis in criminology, her masters degree in college student personnel and her doctorate degree in higher education all from OU.
“I look forward to the opportunity to advocate for our students in this interim role,” Hall-Jones said in the release. “It is an honor and pleasure to serve my alma mater in this capacity.”
