Ohio's not done yet.
After falling to Kent State in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals Friday, the Bobcats have found a way to extend their season. The Bobcats (24-9, 14-6 MAC) announced Sunday they have accepted a bid to the 2022 Roman College Basketball Invitational.
Ohio will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will take on the No. 14 seeded Rice in the first round Saturday in Daytona Beach, Florida. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Daytona Beach Ocean Center, and the game will be broadcast on FloHoops.
The Bobcats last participated in the CBI in 2016, when they reached the quarterfinals before being defeated by Morehead State. They are 3-2 overall in the tournament and played in the CBI's inaugural tournament following the 2007-08 season.
For much of the regular season, Ohio seemed poised to earn its second MAC title under coach Jeff Boals. Despite falling short of the goal, Ohio has another opportunity to make a run in the postseason.
