The job for Vice President for Student Affairs was first posted Oct. 2.
In order to find a vice president for Student Affairs, Ohio University is paying the search firm Brill Neumann and Associates $70,000 plus expenses.
The job for vice president for Student Affairs was first posted Oct. 2, and a full description was posted Nov. 19, Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit said.
OU conducted a request for proposal process in order to use the search firm, Megan Vogel, special assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs, said.
The former Vice President for Student Affairs Ryan Lombardi accepted the job as vice president for Student and Campus Life at Cornell University in May, and his last day at OU was July 3. In the wake of Lombardi’s announcement, Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones was named interim vice president for Student Affairs. She took on duties for that position July 1.
Benoit said she was unaware how many applicants the firm currently has for the search, as the posting is not yet closed. Applicants are not public record as the search firm is a private entity. The search has no firm deadline, Benoit said.
“Our focus is to find the right person for Ohio University,” Benoit said in an email. “However, our goal is to complete the process this spring.”

Benoit said the university hopes to have the new vice president for Student Affairs at OU before the beginning of Fall Semester.
“My understanding is that February is the month where they’re narrowing down the pool, and they are going to do phone interviews,” Hall-Jones, who also continues to serve as dean of students, said.
In March, the candidates who are selected will come to campus and be made public, Hall-Jones said.
