Cross Country: Ohio finished with nine PR's in regional championship meet

Ohio concluded its 2024 season Friday at the Great Lakes Regionals in dramatic fashion, with nine of its top ten finishers on the men’s and women’s teams earning personal best times.

For the women, all top five finishers for the Bobcats earned personal best times. Junior Leila Boussedra was Ohio’s top finisher in the 6K race. Boussedra crossed the line in 26th place with a personal best time of 20:16.7, over 30 seconds faster than her time at the MAC Championships the previous weekend. 

Junior Alyssa Mason was the second Bobcat to cross the line, finishing 31st overall with a personal best time of 20:26.8. Ohio’s next three finishers, senior Kelsi Harris, junior Allie Martin and freshman Kaitlyn Stewart, finished 34th, 53rd and 61st respectively. They all recorded personal best times of 20:29.3 (Harris), 20:44.8 (Martin) and 20:51.1 (Stewart).

On the men’s side, four out of Ohio’s five top finishers earned personal best times. Sophomore Andrew Bracken was the top finisher for Ohio in the 10K race. Bracken finished 74th with a personal best time of 30:57.5. 

Junior Franklin Angelos finished just behind Bracken, crossing the line with a personal best time of 31:17.5 in 86th place. 

Ohio’s next three finishers, sophomore Nick Kennedy, junior Sam Beeler and junior Rocco DeVincient, finished 110th, 113th and 127th, respectively. 

Kennedy and DeVincient crossed the line with personal best times of 31:47.9 and 32:07.1, respectively. Beeler finished with a time of 31:49.0.

The women’s team scored seventh overall with 205 points and the men’s team scored 16th.
