The Ying Yang Twins will perform on South Beach for this year's #TBT Concert.
OU students will "shake it like a salt shaker" with the Ying Yang Twins for the #TBT Concert on South Beach.
The event will take place April 23 at 5 p.m. Admission will be free. The #TBT Concert is a collaboration between University Program Council and the Black Student Cultural Programming Board.
Last year's concert featured Aaron Carter.
"I freaking love the Ying Yang Twins," said Christina Hussing, a freshman studying education. "They used to be my jam like in the eighth grade; they're still my jam."
The purpose of the #TBT Concert is to bring a musical performance to campus that mirrors the kind of music college students used to listen to when they were younger.
"I think it's pretty cool that (the Ying Yang Twins) are still together," said Rachael Holt, a sophomore studying accounting. "I definitely used to listen to them. I wouldn't pay to go see them now, but I will be there for sure since it's free."
UPC announced the artists’ appearance Thursday, and tabled at the bottom of Baker Center promoting the announcement.
“We love to see when students get a blast from the past and that is what we hope to do with our event,” said Lindsay Hohler, a programmer behind the event in a press release.
This is the second #TBT Concert that the UPC and BSCPB has organized for students at OU.
"I love the Ying Yang Twins. Lil Jon is my boy, I hope he comes too," said Dakota Stanley, a freshman studying business. "I haven't seen them in concert before, so I'll probably go."
The event will also feature activities such as airbrush tattoos, a ladder climb, Velcro wall and spin art.
As soon as Hussing found out, she said she could not wait to go because they used to be her “fav.”
"I don't know how big they are still, but it's cool that they're still doing concerts,” Holt said. “That'd be a really cool concert, because I definitely used to listen to them.”
