Ohio University physicists Ken Hicks and Daniel Carman are earning a spot in the international limelight as part of a group that has helped in the discovery of a new type of subatomic particle.
The new particle, dubbed the pentaquark, has been theorized in studies since the 70s, but most scientists thought it did not exist.
Carman said the search for the pentaquark was surrounded by skepticism and the potential for finding nothing.
