As the season progresses for the Bobcats, and the weekend series continue to physically impact them, they will inevitably get injured. Post reporters Jordan Horrobin and Spencer Holbrook will write a weekly blog — if injuries allow — to document Ohio’s bumps and bruises.
The Bobcats grabbed a second-straight series sweep (say that five times fast) this past weekend against University of Michigan-Dearborn with a 3-2 (SO) win Friday and an 8-1 win Saturday.
At practice on Tuesday, coach Sean Hogan said none of his players were expected to miss time in this weekend’s series at Iowa State, but some players are hurting and their abilities might be “limited” in practice.
Forwards
Matt Hartman (broken finger on his left hand); this is going to bother Hartman for at least a few more weeks, but his position as a top-six forward hasn’t changed.
Austin Heakins (back pain); he wore a red non-contact jersey on Tuesday, but he will play regularly.
Gianni Evangelisti (right shoulder); Hogan said Evangelisti hurt his shoulder on a hit taken late in Saturday’s win against UM-Dearborn. He wore a red non-contact jersey on Tuesday.
Defensemen
Jake Faiella (back pain); he will play regularly.
Alex Vazquez (hip); he is expected to play regularly.
