The Bobcats give Western Michigan its first conference loss.
Ohio began its two-game road trip with a win against Western Michigan on Friday afternoon.
A 64th minute goal from senior forward Liz Finley gave the Bobcats a 1-0 victory over the Broncos, giving Western Michigan its first Mid-American Conference loss. The goal was Ohio's only shot on target all game.
Heading into the match, coach Aaron Rodgers was confident his side would get a good result, and said he'd like to see the Bobcats pick up six points, or in other words, two wins in a weekend.
Ohio now travels to Northern Illinois to play the Huskies on Sunday afternoon. Rodgers said the 2-1 loss last season was the one game he would've liked back from the campaign.
Now his team has a chance at revenge, and three more points.
Western Michigan 0 (8-3, 2-1 MAC)
Ohio 1 (5-6, 2-1 MAC)
