OUPD issued a crime alert Monday afternoon.
A male student was attacked and robbed on South Green, between Cady and O'Bleness Halls early Sunday morning, the Ohio University Police Department reported.
Bettween 2 and 2:30 a.m., six college-aged white males, described as "well built," approached the student from behind, and struck him with closed fists and knocked him to the ground before stealing his wallet. The victim suffered an injury to his right eye and right knee.
The case is currently under investigation by OUPD. The department is asking anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation to call 740-593-1911 or 740-594-3331.
