Despite many people seeking out a unique or recognizable costume, the most popular ones are famous for a reason and a select few are timeless. Vampires, witches and devils make the rounds every year, but some costumes become extremely popular for one select year.
Here are a few you might see on the streets this Halloween.
Sabrina Carpenter
Do not be shocked if you see an array of blonde wigs and pink bodycon dresses making its way up and down the street. Many popular Halloween costumes are spawned from pop culture’s biggest moments, and Sabrina Carpenter had quite the moment this year. Her songs have gone viral and her image has become cemented in the public consciousness, spawning countless copycats on Halloween.
Chappell Roan
Speaking of pop music icons, Chappell Roan has also had a major moment this year. She rocketed to fame in the first few months of 2024 and has since seen her songs spend months on the Billboard Hot 100. Therefore, it is not outrageous to say you will more than likely see a few people sporting white face paint and crimson hair this year.
Ghostface
Ghostface makes an appearance every year, but it seems as if more and more people are embracing the horror villain this year. The iconic black and white screaming mask is now being accompanied by cloaks, robes, mini skirts and fishnet tights.
Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice is another Halloween icon; however, the undead “bio-exorcist” will have many more emulators this year. The original film was given a sequel this year, which quickly caused hundreds of cosplay videos of the dark fantasy, comedy character. It is reasonable to assume characters from “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be seen on the street this year.
Deadpool and Wolverine
Another smash hit of the year was “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and its costumes will be seen everywhere this Halloween. While people may go as one character, friends and couples may also make an appearance in both as a duo costume.
Victoria’s Secret Angel
Sexy costumes have been in for decades, and the Victoria’s Secret Angel is something that has been making waves across social media recently. The combination of angel wings and lingerie has allowed people to make sexiness the focal point of the costume rather than an extra part.
Raygun
People cannot forget about the memorable meme from the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Australian breakdancer Rachel Gunn went viral for her questionable dance moves during the new breakdancing section of the games. While it might not be the most obvious choice, Smithsonian Magazine revealed she was in second place for Google’s top trending Halloween costume searches.
Clowns
There are a few incarnations of this clown costume trend that’ll be spotted this year. “Terrifier 3” has reintroduced people to Art the Clown, and Google searches for Pierrot Clowns have been skyrocketing. Even simple circus clowns will more than likely be spotted on the streets this year.
