The Black Sheep Improv troupe will welcome alumni back home this weekend for the first alumni performance.

Black Sheep Improv will welcome past members that now perform professionally in Chicago back to their home stage at Ohio University.
The Black Sheep Improv “Silver and Gold” show will be held on Saturday at 9 p.m. in Baker Theater. The improv troupe will perform with six alumni, all of whom now perform with Chemically Imbalanced Comedy in Chicago. Two other guest performers will take the stage, but they are not OU alumni.
Matt Weaver, a junior cell biology major, and Zane Tracy, a senior video production major, said that the show will be special in many ways.
“We’ve got some improvisers that have gone on mainly to Chicago,” said Tracy. “Some of the best that have come through here, some of my best friends, and it will lead into a very fun show.”
Weaver adds that since all of the people coming down to perform are all very successful, it will be nice to work with them. The alumni that are performing usually do weekly or biweekly performances with Chemically Imbalanced Comedy in Chicago, said Weaver.
This is the first alumni show that Black Sheep Improv has ever done. It will be a great opportunity for the present cast to get a feeling of what professional improv is like, since many of the members of the group would like to continue doing improv after college, Tracy said.
The alumni will also lead workshops for the current members.
Both of the Black Sheep groups will be performing before the alumni take the stage.
It is uncertain at the moment if the present cast will do any improv with the alumni, although they want to make sure everyone in the crew gets a chance to perform and put on the best show that they can, said Tracy.
Weaver and Tracy both agree that they look forward to reconnecting with old friends and performing with them again.
“It’s going to be really funny, and it’s free,” Weaver said.
In reference with the possible confliction with Palmer Fest activities, Tracy says that all post Palmer Fest guests will be welcomed with “open arms” at the show.
