The Ohio University Speech and Debate team traveled to the state capital yesterday to be honored for its recent success.
The team has won three national team titles this year, and nine individual national titles at various tournaments.
“I am proud to have such dedicated, outstanding students from my alma mater, Ohio University, here today,” said Debbie Phillips, D-92nd, yesterday at the statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. “Their success this year is remarkable, and I am thrilled to be able to honor their hard work and accomplishments on the House floor.”
The Speaking Bobcats are scheduled to host a tournament of their own in Athens later this quarter.
