Ohio University Student Senate will vote on 14 resolutions at its Wednesday meeting.
Five of the resolutions aim to appoint members to the newly created Regional Campus Affairs Commission.
Senators will be appointed from OU’s Eastern, Southern, Chillicothe, Lancaster and Zanesville campuses, according to the agenda. A resolution was passed last week to create the commission, which is the 13th commission in Student Senate.
Five additional resolutions seek to amend sections of the Student Senate constitution.
Two resolutions express support for Ohio House Bill 160 and for the tax exemption of college textbooks.
According to the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, House Bill 160 “changes Ohio’s anti-discrimination laws to include sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes, expanding legal protections in housing, employment, and access to public services.”
Representatives from Students Defending Students and a delegation from the Ohio Student Government Summit will give presentations at the meeting.
Another resolution will purchase office supplies for the Student Senate office.
