Since 2002, Chang also has funded a scholarship for graduate students in mathematics.
According to OU websites, Chang graduated from OU in 1973 with a master's degree in mathematics. She also earned a Bachelor's degree in physics in Taiwan.
Chang also taught math at Federal Hocking High School in Stewart, Ohio.

In an email to The Post Sunday night, Ohio University Police Department Chief Andrew Powers declined to give a statement on the crash. He added that he didn't believe a detailed statement would be issued until as early as Monday afternoon.
It is unclear whether the driver was an OU student, and whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
Officers responded to the scene of the crash at about 1:10 p.m. Sunday afternoon, according to the OUPD crime log.
An eyewitness, who declined to be named, said the driver of the car appeared to be speeding along South Park Drive toward Water Park Drive. The speed limit posted on South Park Drive is 20 mph.
The speeding was so excessive, the eyewitness said, that he and others tried to get the driver's attention to slow down, before hearing the sound of the crash only moments later.
