Game Notes
Although both teams’ records sit well below .500, Athens has fared better than Nelsonville-York as of late. Nelsonville-York is in the midst of a four-game losing streak, and hasn’t defeated a conference opponent since mid-December.
Although the Buckeyes have performed well in nonconference games, they have struggled against conference opponents. The Buckeyes are a measly 1-9 in the TVC. The Buckeyes' singular win was against the Bulldogs earlier this season, when the Buckeyes traveled to Athens. The Buckeyes built an untouchable first half lead that night and defeated the Bulldogs 47-40.
Nelsonville York hasn’t played its best within the last two weeks. It will need a last-ditch effort to earn a win in its final home game of the season. Meanwhile, Athens will have to fight to earn its second road win of the season, and keep its winning-streak alive.
