Today is Presidents’ Day, which is celebrated on the third Monday in February. It is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. The holiday became known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of the 1971 Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which was an attempt to create three-day weekends for workers in the U.S.
