The Bobcats kept scoring in the second period when Shive added another goal. The score was assisted by Long with 10 minutes left in the second period and gave Ohio the lead going into halftime.
Halfway through the third period, the Wildcats tied the match at 2-2 on a goal from midfielder Chloe Appleby. Following Appleby’s goal, the score remained stagnant, as the match became highly defensive. Neither team allowed any goals for the remainder of regulation, and the match was sent into overtime.
The Bobcats began overtime strong by putting significant pressure on the Wildcats. They recorded three shots on goal in just the first two minutes of overtime. Despite the fast-paced opening, neither Ohio nor Davidson found the back of the net during the first overtime period, extending the match further.
