U.S. Secret Service agents opened fire on a Florida man after he used an AK-style rifle on former President Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club Sunday afternoon.
According to the Associated Press, the presidential candidate is safe and unharmed, but an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The individual fled the scene in an SUV before being apprehended in a neighboring county by local law enforcement. The golf course was already partially shut down for the former president to play, with agents a few holes ahead of him who noticed the shooter.
According to the AP, the U.S. Attorney General, Department of Justice and Biden-Harris administration have been informed of the investigation and extend relief for Trump’s safety. This is the second shooting Trump has been involved in since July.
