Janet Hulm was announced as the interim dean of University Libraries on Friday by Executive Vice President and Provost Chaden Djalali.
Hulm started working for University Libraries in August 2005 and currently serves as assistant dean for Collections and Digitization Strategies.
“She is well respected by her peers and will provide stability as we navigate this period of transition,” Djalali said in a release.
Hulm’s duties begin on Jan. 2.
The current dean, Scott Seaman, is retiring at the end of 2018. Hulm will serve as interim dean until one of the finalists has been selected to take Seaman’s position.
The finalists visited campus to be interviewed at the beginning of December.
The four finalists are Neil Romansky, the associate chief librarian for science research and information at the University of Toronto; Irene Herold, the librarian of the College of Wooster; Stephanie Walker, the dean of libraries and information resources at the University of North Dakota; and Scott Walter, the university librarian at DePaul University.
