The Athens Police Department has received two reports of sexual assault since Friday.
An 18-year-old woman reported Friday at 1:45 a.m. that someone she knew sexually assaulted her in Uptown Athens, according to a news release. The release includes no other information.
APD received a second report on Monday. At about 1 a.m. a 21-year-old man told police a man he didn’t know had sexually assaulted him in Uptown Athens, according to a news release.
The release describes the suspect as a 30-year-old man with a scruffy beard who stands 5 feet and 10 inches tall. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt, jeans and an orange sock cap during the attack, according to the release.
Residents should stay alert and contact Officer Andrew Foster at APD if they have any information related to the Monday incident, according to the release.
Both incidents are under investigation.
A woman reported to APD that someone she knew had raped her on the north end of Athens on Feb. 24, according to a previous Post report. OUPD also received its sixth report of rape since the beginning of Spring Semester on Feb. 24.
