Alden Library has fully reopened after operating during limited hours due to the pandemic this summer.
The library is now open to all students, faculty, staff and community members from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Only those students and staff with valid Ohio University IDs will be able to enter the library after 10 p.m. by swiping their ID. Additionally, those entering after 10 p.m. will only have access to the second and fourth floors.
Masks are also required to be worn when in the library, in accordance with the OU’s mask mandate.
Many library services have been moved to be hybrid or fully no-contact. These services include hybrid research consultations, self-pickup of library materials and touchless printing.
Additionally, the university has added new materials in honor of Juneteenth celebrations. This includes the Black Studies Center, the Black Abolitionist Papers, Black Drama 3rd Edition and more to come.
