Assistant Dean of Students Jamie Patton will be leaving Ohio University.
California Polytechnic State University has appointed Patton as its assistant vice president for Student Affairs — Diversity and Inclusion, and he will start his new position in July, according to a Cal Poly news release.
Patton, whose salary for 2016-17 was $79,591, has worked as OU’s assistant dean of students since 2014.
“My career has been deeply rooted in diversity, access and inclusion of all students in their pursuit of higher education,” Patton said in the release.
Cal Poly is located in San Luis Obispo, California, and about 21,300 total students attended in the fall 2016, according to their 2016 Fact Book.
Patton is a first-generation college graduate who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and Master of Education and Doctor of Education degrees from Northern Arizona University.
His last day at OU will be July 17.
