Ohio University’s “I am Senate” campaign sparked Ohio University Student Senate to host an event that will promote casual interaction with senate members.
The event, called “We owe yOU,” will be held from 5–7 p.m. Feb. 23 at The Pigskin, 38 N. Court St., and includes free food and drink specials.
“One of the major things we want to do this quarter is increase senate’s visibility,” Senate Treasurer Chris Wimsatt said. “Having this event at a popular eatery and bar on Court Street is a great way to do that.”
The “I Am Senate” campaign, which was launched earlier this month, is meant to increase the visibility of senate on OU’s campus. Signs plastered on walls in on-campus buildings feature senator’s headshots and their contact information.
“It’s a great opportunity to give back to the students who not only elected us but ultimately are the reason we do everything we do,” Wimsatt said.
