Ohio traveled to Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday and ran its final meet of the season in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships.
The Bobcats faced their toughest test yet and ran against many of the top-ranked teams in the country. The men finished 15th out of 29 competing teams and the women finished 25th out of 31.
Ohio saw production from the runners that have shined all season. In the 10K men’s race, Josh Park continued his stellar junior campaign with a 32nd-place finish out of a total of 201 competitors. He finished with a time of 31:05.7.
Juniors Griffin Butler (32.35.7) and Seth Gard (32.36.5) finished in 93rd and 94th place, respectively, which still put them in the top half of all competitors.
On the women’s side in the 6K, redshirt senior Madison Sury finished with a time of 22:15.2 and and placed 92nd out of 215 runners. No other runner for the women’s team finished in the top 100, but junior Hailey Bowes had a solid time of 22:31.3 and finished in 115th place.
The cross country season reach its conclusion, the weekend won’t not be the end for many runners on the women’s team. They will be back in action this winter as they will compete for the Bobcats on the indoor track and field team, which will be starting in December.
