Rain put a damper on the softball team’s plans for its first games since spring break.
Yesterday’s scheduled doubleheader against Wright State was cancelled after an initial rain delay in the first game, which was supposed to start at 2 p.m.
The teams attempted to start the game at 2:30 p.m. Because of difficulties handling the ball in the rain, it was delayed again after only one at-bat. A final call was made about 4p.m. to call off the game.
“We are not sure at this time when the makeup games will be played,” assistant coach Jenna Hall said. “The coaches will all meet, and then we will decide when the makeups will be played.”
The Bobcats will play again Friday when Ball State comes to Athens for a doubleheader.
