NSCAA to broadcast Ohio derby

Nine current OU students and one alumnus will broadcast the Ohio vs. Miami match on Sunday.

Ohio (6-7, 3-2 MAC)

Miami (9-2-1, 3-2-1 MAC)

After a 1-0 win against Ball State on Friday, the Bobcats have the opportunity to pick up their first six-point weekend on Sunday when they host Miami in the “Battle of the Bricks” derby.

The match will kick off at 1 p.m. at Chessa Field and will also be live streamed on NSCAATV.com. (National Soccer Coaches Association of America)

Nine students who went on an internship to Europe this past summer to provide coverage of the FIFA World Cup will lead the broadcast, with the trip’s leader and former OU graduate Dean Linke delivering play-by-play for the match.

"It will be a thrill to be back at Ohio on homecoming weekend calling a live Division I women's soccer matchup with nine Ohio students who went to Europe with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America this summer,” Linke said in an email. “These are talented students who will gain some valuable experience.”

Here’s the list of the nine students who will produce content for NSCAA, including their roles:

Allie Dosmann, Color Analyst

Billy Hartman, Host

Kelsi Steele, Sideline

Justin Holbrock, Sideline

Kellen BeCoats - Writer

Jimmy Eckhardt - Feature Producer

Mark Dohner - Feature Producer

Kate Hiller - Photographer

Stephanie Lynn Gort - Social Media Director

When Fox Soccer Channel was cancelled a year ago, NSCAATV was established to continue broadcasting Division I soccer matches for both men’s and women’s soccer.

Sunday’s match will be the third time Ohio’s games have been available for streaming. SEC Network Plus aired its match against Kentucky and Dayton live streamed a game on its website.

Ohio coach Aaron Rodgers would like to see Ohio Athletics stream all home matches in the future.
