Ohio’s men's and women's cross country teams had a successful weekend at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, for the Mid-American Conference championships.
The men’s and women’s teams collectively had four athletes earn All-MAC honors at the event.
On the women’s side, the team finished second overall, just behind Toledo with 82 points and beating out 10 other MAC conference opponents.
Junior Leila Boussedra, senior Kelsi Harris and junior Allie Martin earned second-team All-MAC honors while leading the team at the event.
Boussedra finished eighth overall with a time of 20:47.4 in the 6K. Harris (20:53.1) and Martin (20:53.4) finished 12th and 13th respectively, both with personal best times.
Rounding out the top five finishers for the Bobcats was freshman Kaitelyn Stewart (19th overall, 21:20.9) and junior Alyssa Mason (32nd overall, 21:55.4).
On the men’s side, the team finished in a tie for fourth with Buffalo. Ohio tallied a total of 120 points for its first top-five finish since 2021.
The Bobcats were led by sophomore Andrew Bracken, who placed 10th overall with a time of 24:33.8 in the 8K. This finish earned Bracken All-MAC Second Team honors.
Sophomore Charlie Slates was the second Bobcat finisher for the men’s team, placing 24th overall with a time of 25:05.5. Junior Sam Beeler (25:11.2) and senior Jake Ethridge (25:12.4) followed Slates, finishing 27th and 28th respectively. Rounding out the top five finishers was junior Franklin Angelos, with a 31st-place finish and a time of 25:14.7.
