The plaintiff no longer wished to pursue the charges.
The gross sexual imposition charges against former Ohio University basketball player Reginald Williams II were dismissed Monday afternoon in the Athens County Municipal Court.
County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn confirmed the fourth degree felony charges were dismissed because the plaintiff did not wish to pursue the charges. He also said it’s up to the state of Ohio to decide if it wants to pursue the charges against Williams.
Williams was arrested by the OUPD on Sept. 9 in the Baker Center Ballroom after a female reported she received unwanted sexual conduct from a male acquaintance, according to a previous Post report.
The report was filed Sept. 8. During his preliminary hearing, Williams didn't enter a plea.
