The Ohio men’s golf team faced the harsh reality of tournament play when they finished last in the 2011 Marshall Invitational with a score of 896.
The freshman-laden Bobcat squad finished last out of 15 participating teams.
Ohio was the only Mid-American Conference team represented in the tournament.
Senior Paul Grauer, who finished tied for 52nd place in the tournament, led the Bobcats with a score of 219.
After the first day, Grauer was tied for 47th, however he shot a 74 to finish the tournament. Freshman Curtis Goldsberry helped the cats with a score of 225 and finished in a tie for 68th place for the tournament.
Ohio couldn’t climb out of the last place hole they dug themselves on the first day when they shot a combined score of 600.
The Bobcats closed out the tournament with a score of 296. Host Marshall finished in eighth place, while Ohio State came in first with a score of 834.
Ohio also participated in the Marshall Invitational during the 2008-2009 season and finished in eighth place.
